Sikh Children's Day 2018

Legal Associates sponsored the Sikh Childrens Day 2018 which was held on Saturday 6 October 2018 at the Sri Kalgidhar Sahib Gurudwara in Takanini. Over 400 children participated in this event which was superbly managed and organised by the New Zealand Supreme Sikh Society. This event was to mark and celebrate Sikh heritage (virsa) through the medium of activities for children. The programme of the day included Gurbani (prayer), art and quiz competition and gatka. Harinder Singh Khalsa Member of Parliament from INDIA

Honorable Khalsa Ji visited Legal Associates in October 2018. Harinder Singh Khalsa worked for Indian Foreign Service (IFS) and worked as a Second Secretary in Jakarta. Later, he served as a First Secretary in Bangkok and Norway. Harinder Singh Khalsa served as a Member of Parliament (MP) from Bathinda during 1996-98 & in 2014, he was elected as an MP from Fatehgarh Sahib. Malwa Sports & Culture Club successfully arranged sports tournament at Kolmar sports complex grounds. Interim Visa - Reconsiderations - a New Opportunity

Recently the INZ introduced a new way that Interim Visas work after declined the visa. Now Interim Visas are deemed to expire 21 days after the main visa application is declined. The most important effect is that the applicant can apply to have the decline decision reconsidered within 14 days. Under the previous regime, they would become over stayers as soon as the decision was made and can only request under s61. INZ fees and levies changes will take effect from 5 November 2018. Arif Lohar from Pakistan and Kanwar Grewal from India performed to packed audience and enthralled with their performances.
