On the 25th of July, Legal Associates, by special invitation of the BNZ Bank, was privileged to attend a presentation by BNZ Bank’s Chief Economist Tony Alexander on the NZ economy. Legal Associates was represented by Solicitors, Ane Poane Talakai, Amman Jaggi, Neomal Perera and Prerana Nepal.
Tony’s presentation brought out some interesting facts about the NZ economy from the past to where it is now and what we could expect in the near future going by current global economic trends and their impact on the NZ economy.
His view was that the construction industry would remain strong in Auckland and the regions with property values expected to rise but not as significantly as seen up to now.
The impact of Mycoplasma Bovis on the dairy industry he opined was minimalistic to the NZ economy. Shortages in the labour market, migration trends and the housing market were some of the other areas touched upon by Tony.
Many business leaders from Auckland and across many parts of NZ from various industries including the construction and housing sectors were in attendance and the legal team representing Legal Associates was able to exchange notes with them.
It was a great opportunity to not only network with individuals from various occupations, but to also understand the current information about the New Zealand Economy, which indivertibly is important to our practice at Legal Associates and helps in providing a perspective to our clients.
