Legal Associates sponsored the Sikh Childrens Day 2018 which was held on Saturday 6 October 2018 at the Sri Kalgidhar Sahib Gurudwara in Takanini.
Over 400 children participated in this event which was superbly managed and organised by the New Zealand Supreme Sikh Society. This event was to mark and celebrate Sikh heritage (virsa) through the medium of activities for children.
The programme of the day included Gurbani (prayer), art and quiz competition and gatka.
Sikh Children’s Day was an initiative started by the Supreme Sikh Society over 8 years ago and this year’s event attracted a large turnout.
The Sikh Supreme Society of New Zealand does a great job at serving the Sikh community in Auckland and throughout New Zealand. These type of events are very important for the children of Sikh heritage that are born in New Zealand as this reconnects them with the culture, faith and the way of life as espoused by their forefathers.
We look forward to working with the Sikh Society in New Zealand at a community level and working with the Sikh community in general.
