Zabihullah Karimullah served as the Attorney General of Afghanistan until August 2021,
where he led the country’s legal systems and ensured the rule of law. Prior to this, he was the
Director General of State Lawsuits from 2018.
With over 15 years of experience in the Rule of Law Sector, He worked with the United
Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in key roles such as Project Management
Analyst, Access to Justice Coordinator, and Project Manager. His work, spanning
Afghanistan and Sudan, focused on strengthening judicial systems and improving access to
justice, particularly for marginalized communities.
Zabihullah’s extensive experience in international development, project management, and
public service has made him a key figure in advancing the rule of law in both regions.
